33 Reads - A Journal for Books
$11.00
For the Love of Books
33 Reads is unique book journal designed for readers. It's made to help you remember the books you read, whether they're that drool-worthy, first edition hardback you found in a Parisian book stall, a sultry supermarket softcover, addictive audiobook, dreamy digital download, or what-have-you.
33 Reads provides an easy way to quickly record notes on the books you consume in a small, convenient format that's thinner than an iPhone and easily fits in a pocket or purse.
Designed for Speed

Taking notes with 33 Reads is as simple as checking a few boxes and entering a few basic facts. The "review in the round" in 33 Reads can be used to recall a book's unique qualities long after its conclusion. Kurt Vonnegut's legendary Slaughterhouse Five is used in the example shown.
A Collaboration with Bookbinder Jason Patrician
As a lifelong reader and designer of books, I've always been fascinated with the craft of bookbinding. If you've ever seen a leather-bound, gilt-lettered masterpiece and felt a tiny tingle, you might be a book buff, too. As luck would have it, Portland is home to one of the best bookbinders practicing today: Jason Patrician. As the craftsman behind The Fish Bindery, Jason is a skilled book restorer, binder, and ... a paper marbler. My high school English teacher would call that "exposition."
That Bespoke Book Look
Inspired by some of my favorite books, I commissioned Jason to create custom marbled paper for the cover of 33 Reads. If you're not familiar with the phenomenon, marbled papers are often used to line the inside or outside cover of particularly well-made books. They're made through an incredibly cinematic process that results in equally incredible and eye-catching designs. So eye-catching, I couldn't choose just one of the designs Jason created. 33 Reads comes in two amazing cover designs: one green and metallic gold in a traditional marble pattern, and the second in red, black and metallic gold in a combed marble design. A gold-foil title block and gold staples complete the look.
Read a Book, Save a Tree
33 Reads is made with 100% recycled papers sourced in the Pacific Northwest. Interior pages are 100% post-consumer recycled content and covers are 85% post-consumer recycled content and 15% recycled content. The booklets are printed with care in sunny Portland, Oregon.

Extra special thanks to former coworker and longtime friend Marci Marshall and my super-reader mom, Juli Yost for providing feedback and inspiration on early drafts of this book!
