33 Whiskeys fits perfectly in a jeans pocketPocket-Sized, Yet Powerful

33 Bottles of Japanese Whisky is a whisky journal that provides an easy way to quickly record whisky tasting notes in a small, convenient notebook format. It's thinner than an iPhone and easily fits in a back pocket.

It's the perfect gift for whisky aficionados, Japanophiles, whisky dorks, whisky nerds and other fans of Japanese distilleries.

If you are more interested in Scotch, you might enjoy my Scotch-specific journal, 33 Drams of Scotch. I also a make a whiskey journal that's designed for Bourbon, Irish and Canadian whiskey.

Worldly Whisky

Japanese whisky is a thing all its own. Scotch lovers scoff at blends, generally preferring single malts, but in Japan, blending is high art, combining both malt and grain, peated and un-peated whiskies to create truly special spirits. Each distillery has its own take on barrel-aging, some using precious Japanese oak (Mizunara) alongside more traditional barrels, and this book has space to note them all.

Traditional Calligraphy for a Modern Whisky World

Inspired by the beautiful bottles used by Japan's distillers, I asked my internet friend @Soyamax to do some similar calligraphy for the front of my whisky journal. The result is an attractive blend of Japanese and Western tastes, quite like a certain distilled beverage I know ...

Designed for Speed

It’s tough to hold a notepad in one hand, a pencil in the other, and have another hand left for your glass. Taking notes with 33 Japanese Whiskies is as simple as checking a few boxes and entering a few basic facts.
