33 Mazers of Mead

$5.00

Powerful, Yet Pocket-Sized

33 Meads is a mead journal that provides an easy way to record tasting notes in a small, convenient notebook format.

Designed for Speed

This mead journal is designed for ease of use. It’s tough to hold a notepad in one hand, a pencil in the other, and have another hand left for your glass of mead. Taking notes with 33 Meads is as simple as checking a few boxes and entering a few basic facts.

Mead Flavor Wheel

The flavor wheel in 33 Meads can be used to quickly recall a mead's unique flavor long after consumption. For low values of the flavor, fill in dots near the wheel’s center. A whole-hive, traditional semi-sweet mead is used in the example shown.

Pocket Reference

Don't know your melomel from your metheglin? The language of mead can be a bit arcane. Thankfully, the inside front cover of the journal contains a mini glossary that'll help you decipher the language of honey wine (mead) as you explore its mysteries. If you're wondering, melomel is any mead to which fruit has been added (except grapes - that'd be pyment - or apples - that's cyser). Metheglin is honey wine to which herbs and/or spices have been added.

Secret Ingredient

A teeny, tiny amount of real mead is added to the ink in each new edition, which is cryptically noted on the back.

Eco-Friendly

33 Meads is made with 100% recycled papers sourced in the Pacific Northwest. Interior pages are 100% post-consumer recycled content and covers are 85% post-consumer recycled content and 15% recycled content. The booklets are printed using US-grown soy-based inks in sunny Portland, Oregon.

Special thanks to Chrissie Manion Zaerpoor of Kookoolan Farms Meadery, the inspiration for – and a major help in producing – this book. Katie Heyn of the much-missed Mead Market was also a big help!
